Wound Care Center
Hours: 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Thursday
The Wound Care Center provides pediatric, adult and geriatric patients who have alteration in skin integrity including, but not limited to minor burns, trauma, pressure ulcers, arterial ulcers, venous ulcers, diabetic ulcers, surgical dehiscence or any other tissue trauma.
The Wound Care Center provides comprehensive patient assessments including nutrition, caretaker, pressure ulcer risk, non-invasive arterial blood flow and foot sensation for the diabetic patient as well as individualized patient education. Wound care may include debridement, advanced dressing technology, platelet derived growth factor, compression therapy, vacuum assisted closure (negative pressure wound therapy), bioengineered skin grafts, pulsatile wound irrigation and nursing care by a certified wound nurse.
The goal of the Wound Care Center is to provide quality wound care through accurate wound diagnosis and comprehensive wound management that will decrease healing time, reduce the prevalence and severity of lower extremity amputations, provide education, increase knowledge for prevention of further complications and provide continuity of care.
The Wound Care Center is staffed by a physician, certified wound care nurse and support staff. Services can be obtained by direct inquiry or by physician referral. |
