Serve patients across the lifespan including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with orthopedic, neurological and cardiopulmonary conditions, connective tissue disorders, and developmental delays.

Occupational Therapists provide evaluation and treatment for people with orthopedic conditions such as arthritis, joint replacement, and osteoporosis; joint and soft tissue injuries such as fractures and dislocations; neurologic conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis; cardiopulmonary and circulatory conditions such as congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and workplace injuries including repetitive stress disorders.  When a patient sees an occupational therapist for the first time, they will receive a comprehensive evaluation, upon which, a plan of care will be developed based on problem areas identified.  Treatment focuses on maximizing functional independence with their activities of daily living, such as dressing, bathing, transfer safety, along with functioning needed for vocational and avocational pursuits. A physician's order is required for occupational therapy.  Occupational therapy services are provided by NBCOT certified and PA licensed occupational therapists (OTR) and occupational therapy assistants (COTA), who work under the supervision of an occupational therapist.

Outpatient occupational therapy services are available on a regular basis at the CCMH Rehab Center, Port Allegany and Shinglehouse.
