The goal of the Certified Safety Committee is to provide a multi-disciplinary forum and framework in which to identify and management environment of care issues at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital thus promoting a safety environment for our patients, visitors and staff.

What are Certified Safety Committee REPRESENTATIVES?

The Certified Safety Committee has established Safety Representatives to serve as the “eyes and ears” of our environment of care program. This person also serves as an environment of care resource for hospital staff, provides assistance by working with departments/units and staff to resolve environment of care concerns and forwards issues as necessary to the Certified Safety Committee for appropriate follow-up.

What is the role of the Safety Officer and Co-Safety Officer?

The role of the Safety Officers is to facilitate the Joint Commission safety program for Charles Cole Memorial Hospital. This is done through the Certified Safety Committee and includes training initiatives, establishment of performance measures and development of environment of care programs, policy and procedures. The Safety Officers are Lonnie Bunch who is located in the Dietary Department and can be reached at 814-274-5490 and Trish Galeotti who is located in the Environmental Services Department and can be reached at 814-260-5215.
