Pre-Admission Testing (P.A.T.)
Hours: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday
Pre-admission testing is performed prior to scheduled surgical procedures. Patients receive information about the procedure including preparation, what to expect and other pertinent information. Laboratory tests, EKGs and a nursing assessment are typically performed at the P.A.T. visit. If no P.A.T. visit is ordered by the physician, patients will be contacted two days prior to the procedure with information, at which time a nursing assessment will be done. The P.A.T. office is responsible for assuring that all pre-surgical testing is completed and reported to the short procedure nursing and anesthesia staff on the day of the procedure.
