Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit

Charles Cole Memorial Hospital's Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit assists individuals who have experienced a serious illness or injury. The treatment team helps patients to develop or relearn the skills that enable them to live as independently as possible.
Patients who may benefit from Inpatient Rehabilitation include people with the following conditions:
- Brain Injury
- Multiple Trauma / Accidents
- Stroke
- Back & Spinal Cord Injury
- Hip Fractures
- Neuro Muscular Disorders (MS, Parkinson's, Lou Gehrig's, etc.)
- Amputation
Patients in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit are provided at least three hours in therapy per day. An individualized treatment program is developed for each patient based on an evaluation at the time of admission.

Program goals may include:
- Increased independence with the activities of daily living
- Increased mobility
- Home evaluation
- Patient and family education
The treatment team may consist of a physical & medicine rehabilitation physician, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech/language pathologist, rehabilitation nurses, a social worker and a nutritionist.
